What the Engine Rebuild / Overhaul Service does
Every diesel engine eventually wears: rings and liners lose their seal, bearings wear and valves recede. An overhaul restores the engine to near-new condition at a fraction of the cost of a new generator.
A full overhaul covers the top end (cylinder head, valves, gaskets) and the bottom end (liners, pistons, rings, bearings, crankshaft), with every part measured against the manufacturer's limits.
Signs it needs replacing
- Heavy blue or black smoke and high oil consumption.
- Low compression, hard starting and loss of power.
- Excessive crankcase blow-by.
- Knocking from the bottom end or low oil pressure.
Get the right part first time
Send us these on WhatsApp and our engineers will confirm the exact part before you pay:
- A photo of the generator nameplate (make, model, kVA, serial number).
- A photo of the engine dataplate — the engine serial number decides the exact part.
- Hour-meter reading and service history if available.
Fitting notes
We start with an on-site assessment — compression, oil analysis, blow-by and a run on load — to confirm whether an overhaul is needed and its scope. After the rebuild, the engine is run in and load tested before handover.
Frequently asked questions
Overhaul or new generator?+
If the alternator and frame are sound, an overhaul is usually far cheaper. Our assessment gives you the numbers to decide.
How long does an overhaul take?+
It depends on the engine and parts availability; we confirm the timeline after the assessment.
Is there a warranty?+
Yes — six months after the rebuild.
