What the Perkins 1006 Full Head Gasket Set does
The head gasket seals combustion pressure, coolant and oil between the cylinder head and block. When it fails, combustion gas enters the cooling system, coolant may leak into the oil, and the engine overheats.
This full set includes the gaskets and seals needed whenever the head is removed — reusing old manifold or rocker cover gaskets after a head job is a false economy.
Signs it needs replacing
- Coolant loss with no visible leak; bubbles in the radiator.
- White smoke with a sweet smell.
- Milky, light-brown oil on the dipstick.
