What the Lovato Contactor Coil (Replacement) does
Lovato BF contactors are widely used in automatic transfer (ATS) and changeover panels for generators. A failed coil leaves the contactor open, so the load is never transferred, or makes it chatter and damage its contacts.
A replacement coil restores the contactor at a fraction of the cost of a new one, if the contacts are sound.
Signs it needs replacing
- Contactor will not close when the generator is ready.
- Loud hum or chatter from the panel.
- Coil discoloured, cracked or smelling burnt.

Fitting notes
Isolate and prove both supplies dead first. Check the main contacts while the coil is out and the control voltage after fitting — a low control supply causes repeat failures.

Which voltage coil do I need?+
The same as the existing coil — commonly 24 V DC or 230 V AC. It is marked on the coil.
Does a coil fit all BF sizes?+
No, coils differ between frame sizes. Send the contactor frame from the label.
